Meet the Palm Beach Knights Motorcycle Riding Club
Ride with the Palm Beach Knights Motorcycle Riding Club
THE/STUDIO: Introduce yourself. Tell our readers a little bit about who you are!
Will: Will Heckman-founder and president of The Palm Beach Knights Motorcycle Riding Club. I have been a rider and a leader in the motorcycle community for about 10 years. We choose Meetup to use as our web presence because of the great exposure. We have 70-100 members at any given time.
THE/STUDIO: That’s awesome! I would love to learn how to ride a motorcycle. What does your organization do?
Will:The Palm Beach Knights Motorcycle Riding Club is a family oriented motorcycle riding club that uses the Web to communicate and focuses on the enjoyment and fellowship of riding motorcycles while doing so safely. The Palm Beach Knights Motorcycle Riding Club is not an Internet club for motorcycle enthusiasts. We are brought together by our addiction to having good times with friends new and old, and our love for going out and cruising around for no other reason than to enjoy the road laid before us. Oh, and of course we enjoy a good party or two!!!
THE/STUDIO: What have you learned since starting your motorcycle club?
Will: The work is its own reward when done out of love for my club.
THE/STUDIO: What about your motorcycle club are you most proud of?
Will: The Palm Beach Knights Motorcycle Riding Club are involved with charity fund raising rides, local and long distance rides, overnighters and club dinner rides, and of course the unknown rides which may lead us anywhere.
THE/STUDIO: That’s great that your club does fundraisers as well! What are some of the greatest challenges you face with your club?
Will: No club is perfect, you have to learn to enjoy the global picture. Sometimes there are some members that end up not being a good fit. As a leader you have to have your clubs best interest in mind at all times, even if there are some that disagree with your decision.
THE/STUDIO: Sounds like a big responsibility! Where do you see your club in 10 years?
Will: The primary purpose of the club is to organize rides and events. While we are mainly a Palm Beach Florida group, we hope to add more groups as we develop. The meetups will always be mainly about the rides.
THE/STUDIO: What type of legacy do you want to leave?
Will: A well-organized brotherhood of motorcyclist. That are Knights forever!
THE/STUDIO: That’s a great legacy! What is the story behind the custom patch that you produced with THE/STUDIO?
Will: Our patches say a lot about who we are. In the motorcycle community, your patch is very meaningful. I had to make sure that our patches were perfect, and they are!
THE/STUDIO: We are so happy that you are happy with your patches the How are you going to use these custom patches ?
Will: Our members wear their patches on their vest for everyone to see.
THE/STUDIO: Describe the custom patch and what it means?
Will: The large back patch on a bikers vest is a sign of fellowship. It gives our members a sense of belonging and a biker’s identity.
THE/STUDIO: Do you have any promotions you would like to offer our community?
Will: Anyone who rides a motorcycle in or near Palm Beach County Florida is invited to join.
THE/STUDIO: Do you have any upcoming events that our community members can attend?
Will: We are the most active motorcycle club around we are sometimes fully booked for 3-4 months in advance….check us out.
Thank you Will for sharing your story with us! I wish you and the Palm Beach Knights Motorcycle Riding Club a lifetime of doing what you love to do best, RIDING!
